The Brief

I’ve been meditating without a timer, a phone or something keeping track of my sits for a while now. No app to track my streak, or an open phone next to me, no voice telling me when to notice the breath or come back to the body. Just me and a wall and whatever the hell my mind decides to take me for thirty five to forty-five minutes of no instruction.

It is worse than I expected. Also better.

Something to Practice

So this might be (will be) a little against my own interests here, seeing as most of my working life has been building and teaching guided meditations. But I think the whole point of sitting in meditation is to eventually need less help …sitting.
